The Dual Contact LED fan Mod

This version of the Dual Contact LED fan Mod is based upon many others which use these principles. Yet this design that I've created will take the best of the other designs to create one perfected model.

Other models use slip rings, or simply washers as contacts. And others use axel contacts. My innovation is to use the least friction creating surfaces to contact. Which are both axels on either end of the fan.

The top axel is the most crucial due to the uneven surface of the fan. To compensate, a new metal surface is needed to fix the problem. Because copper is a cheap and soft metal, it will serve as the best surface. The first step will be to lap the penny (Lapping is resurfacing an object) into a fine polished surface. Then apply it to the top of the fan. With a thick copper wire, create a hook to contact it. Be patient, for this may take a while to position it correctly.

Repeat this on the other side of the fan except without the penny surface. And that's the primary innovations to this design. The rest is self-explanatory.

I made this incomplete fan mod just to show how the contact is made. If correctly positioned the contact won't make any noise.
